Vacations to Sierra at Tahoe are filled with clear waters and a panorama of mountains that are home to ski resorts in the winter and outdoor recreation in the summer. Frequently called Tahoe, you’ll find this freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains along the border of California and Nevada, just west of Carson City.
During the winter months, vacations to Sierra at Tahoe are filled with some of the best skiing in the world. There are over 12 major ski areas where besides just downhill skiing, you can also find lots of cross country skiing, snowtubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and lots of trails to do them on.
If you’re not into the whole winter cold and skiing thing, the summer is a great time for vacations to Sierra at Tahoe! The two best known cities for tourists in this area are South Lake Tahoe, in California and Stateline, which is a smaller city in Nevada. Tahoe City and Kings Beach are even smaller areas on the northern shoreline and are equally as beautiful to visit.
There is something for everyone to do here from world-class snowboarding and skiing to a hopping night life featuring some of the hippest nightclubs with bottle service as well as some of the best dive bars. Aside from the world class skiing and snowboarding, you can also enjoy fishing, sailing, parasailing, or just relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery around you.
The casinos are one of great attractions and here you’ll find the Grand Sierra resort and casino, my favorite, the Cal-Neva Resort Spa & Casino, the Hyatt Regency Resort Spa & Casino, Harrahs, and Horizon Casino Resort, to name a few.

There’s always something going on whether it’s in the winter or the summer and if you’re planning a vacation there, you’ll want to plan ahead so that you can spend your time totally relaxed.
